Tualatin Oral History

Tualatin Historical Society received a grant in 2006 from the Oregon Heritage Commission to gather oral histories from area residents. There are two areas of emphasis: local war veterans and descendants of Oregon settlers. The Tualatin Heritage Center also provides a "walk in" oral history recording opportunity which allows any visitor a chance to tell stories that capture events and reflections which shape life in our community. Residents are also encouraged to borrow recording equipment and capture family history. Local students are key players in the Tualatin Oral Chronicle as the Society strives to involve young people in documenting their heritage and preserving historic assets.
